Internet VS. World Wide Web
Internet Vs. WWW.
The internet is, " a global network of billions of computers and other electronic devices." Robert Kahn and Vint Cerf invented the internet. It was first invented for military purposes and was invented in the late 1960's. It was first a "node to node" communication, but now has assembled a "network of networks". Now with the Internet, we are able to access almost any information, communicate with others around the globe
The World Wide Web, "is a collection of webpages found on this network of computers." Invented by Sir Tim Bernes Lee in 1989, the World Wide Web was created to find a new way for scientists to share data. It was used by linking one document to another, unlike the internet. It is used by many people, not just scientists, to communicate and share information.
"The internet is a huge network of computers all connected together. The world wide web (‘www’ or ‘web’ for short) is a collection of webpages found on this network of computers. Your web browser uses the internet to access the web." So yes, they work together, but they are separate things.
The first website was created August 6th, 1991. It was made by Tim Berners Lee. Yes it is still up. Here is the link:
